Bible Passage: Job 1:1-12

And the Lord said unto Satan, Whence comest thou? Then Satan answered the Lord, and said, from going to and fro in the earth, and from walking up and down in it. And the Lord said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Job 1:7-8

Sometimes we ask why good people suffer, we tend to question God when things begin to happen to people. Today, God wants to let us know that we can pray, be sensitive and live holy.

Why Does Satan Attack Christians?

1. You are a friend of God just like Job was. God testified of Job’s integrity and his friendship (Job 1:8).
2. Every one created by God and born again is very influential. Satan attacks because of this influence (Matthew 5:13).
3. Satan can peep into what God has in store for you. And he attacks because he doesn’t want you to become what God wants you to be. Satan is fighting against your future therefore, don’t give up when Satan fights you.
4. He attacks because of who you are to God (John 15:15). You are a friend of God and the apple of His eyes (Zechariah 2:8, 2 Corinthians 5:21). The devil only attacks you to get God’s attention. Can he win? No! He can’t because he has lost before.
5. We allow him sometimes to attack us (Ephesians 4:27). For instance, when we don’t obey the law of tithing and experience financial struggles. Are there things you are doing that allows the door to be open to Satan? Think about it!

What are Satan’s intentions for attacking Christians?

1. He wants to stop you from the inheritance God has for you (Jeremiah 29:11).
2. He wants to make sure that we are not useful to God. Satan doesn’t want us to serve God (Luke 1:74-75, Ephesians 2:10).
3. Satan wants to infiltrate us, our relationship with God and other people (John 3:27; 1:17).
4. He want to come between us and other people (Matthew 18).
